How do I upload and unpack a zip file to a Resources folder?
There are 2 methods for uploading a zip file to Resources and unpacking the zip file into its component files.
Method 1: Upload the zip file to a Resource folder using the drag-and-drop functionality. This method automatically unpacks the zip file into its component files and removes the original zip file.
Method 2: Upload the zip file to a Resource folder using the upload file functionality, then use the Actions / Expand Zip Archive functionality to unpack the zip file into its component files. This method also removes the original zip file.
Go to Resources.
Select the Resources tool from the Tool Menu of your site.
Method 1: Drag and drop.
To the right of the folder you want to drag-and-drop the zip file, from the Add drop-down menu, select Upload Files.
This displays the upload Files page.
Drag and drop the zip file from your computer.
Drag the zip file from your computer and drop it in box marked "Drop files to upload".
This will display a thumbnail of the zip file that will be uploaded.
Click Continue.
This uploads the zip file.
View zip contents in Resources.
The zip file is automatically unpacked in the selected folder.
Note: A new folder is created using the name of the zip file. The zip file is unpacked in this new folder and the original zip file is removed.
Method 2: Upload zip.
To the right of the folder you want to upload the zip file, from the Add drop-down menu, select Upload Files.
This displays the Upload Files page.
Click Browse.
Click Browse to locate and select the file on your computer.
Click Upload Files Now.
The zip file is uploaded to the selected folder.
Note:The selected file name will display to the right of the Browse button.
Click Actions, then Expand Zip Archive.
From the Actions drop-down menu, select Expand ZIP Archive. This automatically unpacks the zip file.
View zip contents in Resources.
The zip file is automatically unpacked in the selected folder.
Note: A new subfolder is created using the name of the zip file. The zip file is unpacked in this new folder and the original zip file remains.
